Girls Rock Camp is not just about making music.
It’s not just about having fun.
It’s about having fun making music, together.
Girls Rock Camp is the flagship program of Girls Rock Rhode Island, “a volunteer-based non-profit that uses music creation and critical thinking to foster empowerment, collaborative relationships, and the development of healthy identities in girls and women.”
Each band is has an adult band coach who is trained in conflict resolution.
Every lesson is a group lesson.
Every song is a team effort.
Every workshop is led by a professional who is volunteering their time.
Every day begins and ends with an affirmation.
Every rehearsal room generates a network of positive energy that spills out into the hallways.
It fuels each girl’s experience all week long.
On Friday, the circle widens.
Friends, family and supportive strangers are all invited – urged! – to come celebrate these girls’ shared victories, at Aurora, downtown Providence, Friday night at 6pm.
